A remake of the original Call of Duty map, mp_harbor, this seaside harbor map is set about 200 years earlier and sees the undead fighting for control of the peglegs most important trading post.
As dawn breaks and the sun casts its long shadows over the sleepy harbor town, the undead arrive in two frigates and set up a continuous barrage of cannon fire which continues through the attack.
2009-08-17Avast! EA releases another bloody patch ... and other news!http://www.bfpirates.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2243&sid=e77e3a8610c3fc55620d5ba86fa324ddPatch News:
Ahoy maties! If you havent seen the news elsewhere, then know ye that EA has finally released the v1.50 patch for BF2 today. You can get it from our friends at TotalBF2 and elsewhere.
This patch introduces new support for Windows Vista, has a new map called Operation Blue Pearl and officially adds Highway Tampa as a required map.
Operation Blue Pearl:
It also has some new anti-cheating features, and potentially impacts BFP2 in the following two ways:
- AA targeting has been tweaked, which may (or may not) improve the effectiveness of the parrot
- Hitbox detection is more accurate to the model, which may (or may not) improve the cutlass, zombie boarding axe and our newest melee weapon... the clay tankard (used by the new drunkard class).
Over the next day or two, the staff here will be applying the patch to our own installs and our development server to test for any major issues. If the mod is stable on 1.50 with no other development needed, we will announce that here and ask that any server owners change their server names to include a small tag that states if the server is 1.50 compatible until everyone has updated. Stay tuned for more info...

2009-01-11The Captain's Loghttp://www.bfpirates.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2065&sid=e77e3a8610c3fc55620d5ba86fa324ddArrrr fresh with the sounds of Keel's music ringing through their ears our pirate crew are back in port with exciting news from Yarr 2.
We all know pirates like to boast of their accomplishments - the landlubbers they've sliced and the maidens they've plucked. Two of our salty sea dogs have been working hard in the murky depths of our beloved pirate ship to make such piratical boasts easier for you scurvy ridden rascals to make.
Coming in Yarr 2 will be our very own pirate stats system. PiratePlunder and Deleted Screen have been hard at work developing a system that shows who's killing at the captains table and who's the cabin boy left scrubbin' the poop deck.

2008-08-11New Terror on the High Seas - Introducing the Frigatehttp://www.bfpirates.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1955&sid=e77e3a8610c3fc55620d5ba86fa324ddPiratePlunder brings us the largest ship in the BFP2 fleet to date - called the Frigate. This beauty features eight captain controlled 12lb cannons, with several additional crew controlled cannons mounted on the rear firing deck. In this article, we'll review the Frigate, compare it to other ships available in Release 2 and check out some screenshots of it used on a Naval Deathmatch map called "Lost At Sea" created by Catbox.
2008-07-21I Be Needin' Assistance!http://www.bfpirates.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1903&sid=e77e3a8610c3fc55620d5ba86fa324ddRelease 2 will feature several new open-water naval combat maps and will also contain much larger assault ships armed to the teeth, such as the Brig previously announced. Supporting your team's fleet with fresh supplies of ammo, repair parts and additional crewmen will be critical for maintaining naval dominance instead of having ships retreat to friendly ports to restock.
To fill this tactical role, we present yet another ship into the mix called the Wherry - modelled, skinned and coded by 1/2Hawk. A wherry is a carvel planked, straight sterned cargo ship with a distinctive single gaff sail placed well forward of the ships centerline. It first appeared in Norfolk England and was also used in the Thames river to carry goods and ferry passengers from place to place, with a maximum payload of up to 25 tons. In Shakespeare's time, up to 2,000 of these ships could be found bringing folks into the theater district in Southwark. Later its use spread to North America where it became a particularly popular boat used for salmon fishing. Its very low profile hull made it easy to navigate the inlets and waterways of the Atlantic coastline.
