Will not load - Blank Screen

I downloaded BF2P2 from the website last night, and It was the latest version.

Im not sure If it has installed. In properties it says:

Target: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +modPath mods/bfp2

and starts in: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2"

Iv'e activated it on the BF2 community option but whenever I click on the shortcut on my desktop it goes to a blackscreen, appears to be loading but then goes back to my desktop.

Does anyone know what I should be doing?

Im not very computer savvy so If you could explain simply then I'd be thankful lol.

what are your system specs... graphics ram etc... visturd?

hmmm

if the movie isnt even loading its probably that the mod directory isnt in the correct place.

If you can, check that the mod files (various folders, zip files etc are in your C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bfp2 and not something like C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bfp2\mods\bfp2

Yes they are all in: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bfp2

have you set the shortcut to bfp2 to run in xp mode, and as admin?

Yes I set it to XP and to run as administrator but it still didn't work unfortunatly.

It might be a vista problem I suppose....

I installed the latest Battlefield 2 patch 1.41

So it now loads and I can get onto the server screen, but when I click on a server to join it, it says I do not have the mod for this server, I dowloaded 2.1 as my origninal download for BFP2 and then patched it to 1.41,

so Im not sure what Mod I need?

Be careful which servers you try to join, as many of them are still on the 2.0 version. Look for one of the "[+S] BFP2 Official" servers and try one of them, even if they are empty just to test the build.

Normally you would want to patch to 1.41 and then put the mod over top of it. So if you've just ran the 1.41 patch, try running our installer a 2nd time.
