Arrrr fresh with the sounds of Keel's music ringing through their ears our pirate crew are back in port with exciting news from Yarr 2.

We all know pirates like to boast of their accomplishments - the landlubbers they've sliced and the maidens they've plucked. Two of our salty sea dogs have been working hard in the murky depths of our beloved pirate ship to make such piratical boasts easier for you scurvy ridden rascals to make.

Coming in Yarr 2 will be our very own pirate stats system. PiratePlunder and Deleted Screen have been hard at work developing a system that shows who's killing at the captains table and who's the cabin boy left scrubbin' the poop deck.

End of Round



Up first we've got the end of round statistics viewed between rounds of BFP2. These now work as they do in vanilla BF2, showing the most accomplished pirates playing as different classes and in different vessels, those performing best as a team and those that just like to kill.

The best players using each of the scout, sharpshooter, gunner, raider, carpenter and medic kits are listed as well as the most successful captains of the following vessel categories (where they are present on a map):

* Heavy Sail - Frigates and Brigs
* Light Sail - Cutters and Runabouts
* Row Boats - Gnats and Dinghys
* Air Vessels - Biergleiters and Balloons
* Heavy Cannon - 24, 12 and 6 pounder guns
* Light Cannon - 2 and 1 pounder falconets

The second way to boast of your pirate endeavors is with your Pirates Log. With a quick visit to the bfpirates site all the general information about your, and your friends', pirate endeavors are visible at the touch of a button:

* Score - combat and team scores
* Round wins and loses
* Kills, deaths, teamkills and longest streaks
* Time played, as crew member and crew leader

In addition with the favorite victim and deadliest opponent you can see who you like to scupper most and who's best to avoid.

Your ability to play a key role in the various bfp2 gamemodes will also be shown with, for example:

* Conquest - CP's capped, assisted and defended.
* CTF - Flags captured, stolen and returned.
* Zombie - Peglegs turned and Zombies slain.
* Armada - Battles won and crewmember points.

There's also detailed information about weapon, kit, vessel and map use so that you can set apart the pirate masters from the cabin boys - the musket pros from the blunder noobs.

On top of that theres the top five pirates rankings, providing infamy for the best, and worst, pirates out there.

We think that we've covered most aspects of piratical success, but if you think we've missed something that would be good to show or rank players by then let us know.

Player Rank

The more you kill, capture control points, steal enemy flags and convert the peglegs to zombies the higher your reputation will rise. You'll gradually proceed through the ranks of the pirate crew, starting as a lowly Landlubber you'll have the opportunity to make it all the way to Captain and perhaps even Admiral. Here's a selection of some of the player ranks you may encounter:

* Landlubber
* Cabin Boy
* Helmsman
* Coxswain
* Boatswain
* Navigator
* Ship's Master
* Quartermaster
* First Mate
* Lieutenant
* Captain
* Admiral

At this point we do need your help - we need witty yet simple icons to describe each of the above ranks so if any of you scurvy dogs think you can help then let us know!

Finally to really show how great your pirate skills are you can make use of one of our bfp2 stat signatures - updated automatically from the stats databases these sigs can show anything from your favorite weapon of choice to your favorite victim of choice.

Yeah nice one, although I do wish that I had played harder so I wasn't at the bottom of the rankings lol

But then I guess you could say that I should be happy by actually being on them
