BFPedia Now Open as an Open Wiki!

The Community Staff is proud to present our latest step towards a growing and well-informed community -- the BFPedia! This Wiki, which was commendably built by Stealth, will not only educate the existing community members on such topics like the the history and the making of Battlefield Pirates, but will also welcome new members with a wealth of information that will leave no hopeful sailor behind!

BFPedia uses the same technology as other Wikis do. If you're familiar with Wikipedia, the most famous Wiki of all, you will be able to create new content for BFPedia as well. But don't worry, the code is very easy to learn even if you don't have any previous experience. Besides, we can always help you with it if need be. Indeed, without contributors, there would be no BFPedia, and no source of information for curious newcomers or hardened pirates alike. Here's a tutorial to get you started.

Along with liberty, however, comes responsibility. We're creating an organized, streamlined, and mature source of information. We don't want an article on the game of BFP you had the other night nor do we want to know your individual opinion why the Throwing Knives are better than the Grenades. But what we'd really like to have is unbiased, concise, and grammatically correct articles and contributions to articles about maps, weapons, developmental process, gameplay, features, comparison to other games, the community, to list a few. Just keep these things in mind:

• BFPedia is open for anyone to create articles, edit existing articles, organize articles, and discuss and debate (constructively on the article's discuss-page) their content
  
• Please register (with the nick you have here) before editing, so that admins can recognize contributors
  
• Articles on clans can only be edited by their respective members, but can be discussed by everyone; remain fair and humble
  
• Articles on community members must conform to the User Template
  
• Images must be appropriate and properly formatted; take care of copyright issues; host images yourself or contact an admin to have them hosted for you
  
• Write without bias, and keep your text concise and grammatically correct; remain in third person or passive (tip: enable the Firefox spell checker from Tools->Options->Advanced->General-tab->Browsing-box->Enable "Check my spelling as I type")
  
• Discuss major changes in the discuss-page, located on a tab on the top of the article body; vastly debated articles will be locked until consensus is reached
  
• As mentioned above, keep your articles notable, as we do not need your personal opinions or preferences -- write on behalf of the whole community
  
• Experiment with articles on your own user page (not on existing articles), which is created upon registration; you may access any other user by searching User:[NAME]
  
• Use common sense, and think about what would be interesting for others (especially newcomers) to read; don't assume that the reader has any previous knowledge of BFP
  
• Your articles do not have to be perfect -- an adequate one is better than none at all, and articles you create will be developed and refined by other contributors; don't be scared if somebody assigns a big and ugly template (like a sign calling for a clean-up)
  
• Start writing! Don't let these rules extinguish your inspiration!

I'm just going to point out that this is going to be imparshal and is not the appropriate place for discussing whats on the pages, if you want to do that use the talk page! Other wise action will be taken to stop unregistered users from editing pages, which will be unfourtunate.

Strange?! I've put up lots of images with content of bfp2 on the bfp2 section.. BUT some of them are cloned (the ones with the same names like ; musket) into bfp1 with the same bfp2 weapons - weird

this looks like a bug because you can't have the same name on the bfp1 musket and the bfp2 musket because they link to each other

Also, I was looking at the weapons section in the BFP home page, and all the pictures are from BFP2, I removed the nade launcher and smoke grenade from the list already, but don't have any pics of the BFP1 weapons.

Well I'm pleased to know that you've guys are enjoying my wiki. =) I've been working on this thing since back in March. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

I'm glad you found a little problem Elander. We need to try to keep the BFP2 separate from BFP1.

So for anything that would require two articles, say.... the Musket.

Create two pages for it. When you create a page for a musket that is BFP1 only, you can entitle it "Musket." When it's BFP2 only, entitle it "BFP2 Musket." This can help us stay organized.

In order for people to make sense of the acronym, I capitalized the "Bfp2" to be "BFP2." I really like the effort you've been putting into the wiki, Elander. It is much appreciated.
